  • Useful to know: Glerups only use non-metallic and non-toxic colours when dying their wool. Hides are tanned using the most modern and eco-friendly methods. Pure felted wool may exhibit natural variations due to its inherent characteristics.

From Hobby to Iconic Comfort! In 1993, Danish mother Nanny Glerup hand-crafted her first pair of slippers using wool from her flock of Gotland sheep. The slippers were so well-loved by family and friends that what began as a hobby soon became a small production of two pairs a day—the start of Glerups. Nanny and her husband, Ove, worked tirelessly to perfect their slippers, experimenting with various machines and tools to keep up with the growing demand for these cosy indoor shoes.
