Design House Stockholm

Resurrected by Design House Stockholm, Lisa Larson's Birds captures the spirit of a time marked by anti-war protests and a blooming hippie culture. In 1967, in Sausalito near San Francisco, Lisa Larson immersed herself in the bold world of ceramics at Berkeley under Peter Voulkos. Inspired by the vibrant colours and patterns she discovered there, she brought back gouache paints in shades unavailable in Sweden at the time. Collaborating with a retired carpenter who crafted the wooden forms, Larson hand-painted each bird, infusing them with her distinctive artistic touch. The result was Birds 1967—a stunning fusion of traditional craftsmanship and creative expression.
